As a Mechanical Engineer in NUWC’s Electromagnetic Systems Department, I was able to take ownership of much of the department's software development needs. I became the project lead on ‘Low Cost Stabilization System for Antenna and Optical Platforms’, which entailed developing a custom, low cost Inertial Navigation System prototype for use within a High Data Rate Antenna. This work resulted in being awarded a U.S for a Bias Corrected Inertial Navigation System.
AWS Practice Exam is a web application that allows users to practice for the AWS Certified Developer Associate (DVA-C02) exam. Built with Vue.js and deployed on AWS Amplify, utilizing S3 for static asset hosting and CloudFront for CDN and SSL.
RedMeetBlue.com is a moderated debate platform where participants can video debate live for an audience. We built, deployed and beta tested the application as a part of Buildspace's 'Nights & Weekends 4'. Two participants video chat live, while spectators may share comments in real time. Built with Ruby on Rails using WebSockets and WebRTC.
Classic snake game built with Vue.js, and serverless architecture on AWS. The front-end is hosted on AWS S3. The back-end is built with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
Machine Learning Baseball is a Python web application that employs machine learning techniques to predict pitcher vs. batter matchups of Major League Baseball games. Beginning with a sparse matrix of available pitcher vs. batter statistics, Low Rank Matrix Factorization was used to generate a fully populated matrix which predicts statistics for every possible matchup. A Python Flask web application was created to display the resulting data in an easy-to-use interface.
First to Know is a Ruby on Rails web application where users can subscribe to receive text message alerts when a selected twitter user tweets a certain phrase. For example, perhaps you want to be the first to know when Domino's is giving away free pizza. You can create a subscription to Domino's twitter account for the phrase 'free pizza'. As soon as Domino's tweets anything containing the string 'free pizza', a text message will be sent to the user's provided phone number within minutes.
Swell Journal is a Ruby on Rails web application that allows users to document and share their surf travels with friends. The application uses geolocation services, Google Maps, and an oceanographic weather API to create a snap-shot of the conditions at the time of the journal entry.
Who's on Hand is a Raspberry Pi application that monitors active WiFi users on a selected network. The Raspberry Pi application sends data to a Ruby on Rails web application via HTTP to be displayed in a user interface.
Chchchanges is a Ruby gem that makes it easy for a team of developers to keep a consistent, detailed Changelog. With chchchanges, users can create CHANGELOG entries from the command line. Each entry is saved as an individual .json file which prevents CHANGELOG merge conflicts.
